Novak Djokovic is a seven-time champion at Wimbledon but faces a tough test against Holger Rune on Monday

The quarter-final line-up will be signed, sealed and delivered by the close of Monday’s play and it promises to be a thrilling day of Wimbledon action with seven-time champion Novak Djokovic headlining the show.

However, Djokovic faces a tricky test against Danish youngster Holger Rune and there are a number of men in the bottom half of the draw hoping to capitalise, including French Open runner-up Alexander Zverev, big-serving American Taylor Fritz and Australian ace Alex De Minaur.

There are also four tantalising last-16 ties taking place in the women’s event, with 2022 All England Club champion Elena Rybakina hoping to live up to her seeding of four against Anna Kalinskaya.

Bet 1: Over 3.5 sets in Holger Rune v Novak Djokovic

Djokovic has required four sets to come past his last two Wimbledon victims in Jacob Fearnley and Alexei Popyrin and dangerous Danish youngster Rune, seeded 15th at the All England Club, should at least be able to delay defeat.

There is no doubt that Djokovic is way below his free-flowing best and there are likely to be a few nervy moments for him against Rune, who is bidding to make back-to-back Wimbledon quarter-finals.

Interestingly, these two have met five times over the last few seasons and in every encounter both players won a set, so this should go four or beyond.

Bet 2: Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard to beat Lorenzo Musetti

Lucky loser Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has made the most of the opportunity handed to him and few have created such an impression in their first appearance in the Wimbledon main draw.

The 20-year-old defeated American world number 21 Sebastian Korda in five sets in the opening round and has built on that with victories over Yoshihito Nishioka and Emil Ruusuvuori.

The French powerhouse, who stands at 6ft 8in tall, is armed with a formidable serve and he has hit a staggering 105 aces across his three tournament successes.

He has been broken only once throughout the competition and that not-so-secret weapon may be too hot to handle for Musetti, who has dropped a set in each of his three victories.

Bet 3: Taylor Fritz to beat Alexander Zverev

For one reason or another Zverev has not yet taken to the grass and he is bidding to make a belated first Wimbledon quarter-final.

Runner-up at the French Open last month, Zverev is evidently in excellent touch and that is highlighted by three straight-set successes over Roberto Carballes Baena, Marcos Giron and Cameron Norrie.

However, Fritz is a different beast to those opponents altogether and he has lost only two of his 14 matches since the beginning of May.

The American is a big server well-suited to the grass, which is highlighted by his Eastbourne win in the build up to Wimbledon, and he was an All England Club quarter-finalist in 2022.

Bet 4: Elina Svitolina to beat Xinyu Wang

There is something about Wimbledon that brings out the best in Elina Svitolina and her 6-1 7-6 victory over 10th seed Ons Jabeur in the last round suggests she should be too strong for the unseeded Xinyu Wang.

Svitolina has made the semi-finals of Wimbledon in two of her last three appearances, including last season, and she looks a cut above Wang, who has gone the distance in all three of her tournament victories.
