Willie Kirk is encouraging his Leicester players to dream big after a perfect start to the season — but has stressed they must not get carried away.

The Foxes have won all three of their matches so far this term, including two Women's Super League victories over Bristol City and Everton that put them top of the table.

But ahead of Sunday's game against Manchester United, Kirk is demanding focus.

He said: "We dream big because we're very ambitious.

"We've brought together a really ambitious group. How big you dream everybody has their own view on.

"One thing we're really conscious of is focusing on one game at a time. We came in last Monday and we never even spoke about Everton, it was all attention on what is coming up.

"Sunday will without a doubt be our toughest test of the season.

"We want to go and take points, we think we can improve our performance that we've shown over the last three games.

"We keep throwing the players new challenges and they keep responding but what we've done so far will definitely need to be taken to another level against Manchester United."

Kirk highlighted the combination of young and experienced players in his squad as vital to their success so far this season.

In particular, summer signing and two-time Champions League winner Janice Cayman has played a crucial role in lending her ear to talent such as 20-year-old forward Missy Goodwin.

He said: "I know Janice speaks to Missy on the training pitch a lot.

"They chat about different scenarios, what she [Goodwin] could have done differently.

"It's working really well. We've got some really talented players and sometimes I forget how young they are.

"Missy is 20 and Shannon [O'Brien] is 22. And then Janice is 35 and she has so much experience. You've also got Aileen Whelan and Sophie Howard as older heads.

"It's a really nice blend. The young ones are keeping the old ones feeling young and they're utilising them for their experience."
