Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have to right back into the title fight by winning their last three games to cut the gap at the top

- West Ham are winless in six games in all competitions
- Arsenal have won three games in a row, conceding in two of them
- Recommended bet: Arsenal to win and both teams to score

Arsenal will look to extend their winning run to four matches when they take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League.

The Hammers got the better of Arsenal at the Emirates in December, the start of a mini-slump for the Gunners when they lost three games in a row, which also saw them dumped out of the FA Cup in a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

However, they have since rallied and won three league games in a row, which included a 3-1 win over the Reds to cut the gap at the top of the table to two points.

West Ham have failed to win any of their six games since their win at Arsenal and have dropped to seventh, while they also lost to Bristol City in the FA Cup after a replay.

Team news

Alphonse Areola should be fit to start for West Ham despite suffering a head injury in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio will not be able to take part, though, due to calf and knee injuries, respectively.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus is likely to miss out due to a knee injury, but boss Mikel Arteta has indicated that the problem is not too serious.

Bukayo Saka should shake off an ankle injury to start, but Oleksandr Zinchenko is struggling with a calf problem.

Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber and Fabio Vieira remain Arsenal's three long-term absentees.

The stats

West Ham are winless in six games in all competitions, but they have been consistent at home, last losing at the London Stadium in October.

That 10-match unbeaten run at home will give them a huge lift ahead of Sunday's encounter, especially with Arsenal only winning one of their last five on their travels.

West Ham are unbeaten in the last three meetings between the two teams, winning the previous two games this season, having also knocked the Gunners out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win at home.

Prediction

West Ham should at least be able to find the back of the net this weekend, especially considering their incredible home form along with Arsenal's inconsistent away record, with the Gunners having conceded in six straight games.

However, Arteta's side's recent winning run will have given the mood in the camp a massive lift as they continue their title challenge.

The Hammers have hit a sticky patch and may not have enough firepower to keep Arsenal at bay for the full 90 minutes, but they will not go down without a fight.
