- Joshua Sargent can inspire Norwich to victory over Blackburn
- QPR's woes set to continue against Preston

Norwich to edge out promotion rivals Blackburn

Bet 1: Result will be Norwich in 90 mins

Norwich seem to have got over an October wobble in which they took just one point from autumn outings to claim three wins and a draw from their last five games.

The most recent of those was an impressive 1-0 victory in a tricky trip to Swansea, which made for a highly encouraging start to the second part of their Championship campaign.

Now seems an opportune moment to take on Blackburn, whose own promotion charge has hit rocky ground of late.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men have lost three of their last four matches and returned to action after the World Cup break with a humbling 4-1 home defeat to local rivals Preston.

Bet 2: Both teams to score: Yes in 90 mins

While Blackburn are struggling for points, they are still regularly finding the back of the net and have only failed to score in two of their last eight games.

In Ben Brereton Diaz they have one of the most dangerous strikers in the division and he should get chances to score against a Norwich side who have kept just two clean sheets in their last 11 matches.

Bet 3: Joshua Sargent to score anytime in 90 mins

There were fears that Joshua Sargent would be out for an extended period after the USA international was forced off against Iran with an ankle injury, but he has returned from the World Cup fit and raring to go.

His performance at Swansea was highly promising as he was in the thick of the attacking action and came within a whisker on a couple of occasions without finding the back of the net.

Nine goals in 18 starts is a fine return and he will fancy his chances of netting against a Rovers backline that has conceded seven goals in their last two games.

New QPR boss set for baptism of fire against Preston

Bet 1: Result will be Preston in 90 mins

Preston continued their impressive pre-break form when blitzing Blackburn 4-1 in their own back yard last weekend and will back themselves to now follow up against fellow promotion-chasers QPR.

QPR started the season in superb form under Michael Beale but have looked rudderless since he left to take the job at Scottish side Rangers, taking just one point from their last six outings.

Neil Critchley was this week appointed as Beale’s replacement but while the squad might get a boost from having a new permanent head coach it will take time for Critchley to implement his ideas.

Bet 2: Over two goals in 90 mins for both teams combined

Preston’s season can be split into two clear parts — pre and post formation change from 3-1-4-2 to 3-4-3.

The removal of a defensive-minded midfielder to add an extra attacking player has coincided with Preston’s results being completely transformed.

Their first 12 matches of the season featured a paltry total of just eight goals but since the formation switch their 10 matches have contained a whopping 35 goals.

North End have gone from being one of the most dour teams in the Championship to being one of the most exciting to watch and that is unlikely to change against a QPR side who have conceded two or more goals in three of their last four away games.

Bet 3: Under 9 corners in 90 mins for both teams combined

While you might expect the number of corners to rise with Preston’s more attack-minded approach, the opposite is actually true.

Starting with their most recent outing, Preston’s last six matches have produced total corner tallies of just four, four, five, nine, six and seven.

With North End tipped to be the more attacking side, that trend seems set to continue against the R's.
