Of the five meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland on Monday, our focus is on the action at Pontefract.

It is the penultimate meeting of the year at the course and the eight-race card begins at 1.39pm and runs through to 5.15pm.

We have picked out five horses for you to follow.

1.39pm - Northern Commercials Drive Away Range EBF Novice Stakes (1m2f)

AUNTIE MARGARET took a big step forward from her debut at Doncaster (1m) on her latest appearance, finishing third of six at Haydock (1m), beaten by ½ length.

She only just lost second place in the final strides.

Mark Johnston's runner hung left at times on her last start.

She should settle better on this occasion with that experience behind her.

The unexposed filly sets the standard here based on that latest appearance so expect to see her break her maiden.

LiveScore selection: Auntie Margaret

2.14pm - Napoleons Casino Bradford Nursery Handicap (6f)

In all seven of his racecourse appearances, LETHAL LEVI has done no worse than third place.

The two-year-old has been very consistent, with two victories to his name, including on his penultimate outing at Redcar (6f).

The Lethal Force colt remains off the same mark as his last start where he was third of 15 runners at Ayr (6f).

He remains open to improvement and there are less runners in this field. He should be in contention at the business end of this race.

LiveScore selection: Lethal Levi

2.44pm - Leslie Burton (Fisher) Handicap (1m)

Alpha Cru (centre) has gone up just 2lbs despite three wins in five starts
Alpha Cru (centre) has gone up just 2lbs despite three wins in five starts

A third win in five starts came from ALPHA CRU at Hamilton (1m½f) on her latest appearance last month.

The filly has lost just once since switching to David O'Meara's yard earlier this year.

The daughter of Australia has been successful twice over this C&D. She was staying on strongly in her victory at Hamilton but has only gone up 2lb in the ratings.

This new mark gives her a great chance of following up with another success on the track.

LiveScore selection: Alpha Cru

4.15pm - Injured Jockeys Fund Maiden Stakes (1m4f)

This will be TIGER BEETLE's seventh attempt to get off the mark.

Although he has yet to break his maiden, there have been plenty of encouraging signs.

Just two runs ago, he finished a short head behind the winner at Redcar (1m2f). The horse which beat him has come out and won twice, so that form has taken a big boost.

The opposition to Sir Michael Stoute's runner in this race does not appear to be particularly strong. It represents a great chance for him to record that first win.

LiveScore selection: Tiger Beetle

5.15pm - Go Racing In Yorkshire Handicap (1m)

When he prevailed on his debut at Carlisle (6f) back in May 2019, it looked as though COASE would go on to add many more victories to his record.

Unfortunately for his connections, that has not proved to be the case as he is winless since that first start.

The four-year-old gelding produced his best run since his debut on his latest outing at Ayr (1m), finishing second of six, less than a length behind the winner.

The visor is on for the first time, which could help him concentrate on the task at hand.

LiveScore selection: Coase
