The Premier League is home to some of the world’s best players — and largest trophy cabinets.

Top players go head to head every week in the top flight but it takes a certain kind to repeatedly win major honours.

Having proven winners who have lifted silverware, whether that be with their current clubs or at previous ones, is invaluable to any manager.

So which Premier League player is the most decorated? We look at the best of the best currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

8. Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea) – 17 trophies

Chelsea's victory over Manchester City in the Champions League final in May gave Mateo Kovacic his fourth European title.

As well as winning LaLiga once during his time at Real Madrid, the 27-year-old has lifted three European Super Cups.

During the Croatian's time at Dinamo Zagreb, Kovacic lifted the league three times and the cup twice to round off his impressive haul.

7. Lucas Moura (Tottenham) — 18 trophies

The majority of Tottenham star Lucas Moura’s trophy haul comes from his time at Paris Saint-Germain, such is their dominance in France.

The Brazilian added to his Copa Sudamerica title with Sao Paulo by winning four successive Ligue 1 titles and three Coupe de France trophies in a row.

The 29-year-old is yet to claim any silverware with Spurs after going close in the Champions League and Carabao Cup but he will hope that finally changes this season.

6. Raphael Varane (Manchester United) — 19

A new addition to this list is Manchester United’s £42million signing Raphael Varane, who has thrived at domestic and international level with Real Madrid and France.

The centre-back has an astonishing four Champions League titles and three LaLiga trophies to his name, while he was also instrumental in helping Les Blues lift the 2018 World Cup.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope he brings that winning mentality to Old Trafford as he looks to earn his first trophy as manager this season.

5. Edinson Cavani (Manchester United) — 24

If United fail to secure a trophy this season, they can hardly say it was down to a lack of winning experience.

In Edinson Cavani, they have a player who has enjoyed constant success in the past after winning six Ligue 1 titles on the bounce with PSG.

The 34-year-old striker has also done it on the international stage, winning the Copa America with Uruguay in 2011.

=3. Fernandinho (Manchester City) — 26

Fernandinho’s trophy-laden spells first at Shakhtar Donetsk and then at Manchester City place him high up in this list.

The Brazilian won six Ukranian Premier League titles at Shakhtar before adding another four in England with the Citizens.

He also has an astonishing six EFL Cup wins to his name and helped Brazil lift the Copa America in 2019.

=3. Thiago Alcantara (Liverpool) — 26

When Liverpool signed Thiago last season, they knew they were getting one of the most decorated players in the game.

He followed up his four LaLiga titles at Barcelona by adding eight Bundesligas to his cabinet as he developed into one of Europe’s most technical midfielders, winning the Champions League twice along the way.

The 30-year-old failed to win a league title for the first time in eight years last season, and he will want to put that right and show English fans exactly what he can do this term.

2. Thiago Silva (Chelsea) — 30

Veteran Thiago Silva was billed as a player to take Chelsea on to win things when he arrived last season and he has not disappointed so far.

Having captained PSG to seven Ligue titles amongst a host of other cups, the Champions League was always the missing piece after falling at the last hurdle during his final season in France.

But he would finally get his hands on the trophy exactly a year later as he played an instrumental role in helping Chelsea emerge as European champions in the 2020-21 campaign.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) — 32

The newest addition to the Premier League and also top of the pile is, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese star has won all the individual accolades there is and that has translated to near-constant success for his clubs too.

The 36-year-old has won seven league titles and boasts a sublime five Champions League triumphs amongst a catalogue of cups across his time at United, Real and Juventus, while he also has a European Championship win with Portugal under his belt.

He will hope to mark his sensational Red Devils return by helping to end the club’s four-year wait for a trophy this campaign.
