- Plymouth have won two of their three home games this season
- Norwich have lost two of their last three matches
- Recommended bet: Plymouth to win at 11/5

Plymouth are out to arrest a poor run of form when they host Norwich City this weekend, with a heavy loss at Bristol City in midweek leaving Argyle just four points clear of the relegation zone, with the hosts having lost four of their last five matches.

A meeting with a City side who have made a bright start is not ideal for Plymouth, with the Canaries having claimed four wins already this term.

However, the visitors have struggled of late and their away form could let them down at Home Park.

Team news

Plymouth rotated heavily in their loss at Bristol City and they should welcome back several key names for this weekend’s encounter. They include Ryan Hardie, who is the joint-top scorer in the division with five goals so far.

Former Pilgrims striker Ashley Barnes is set to miss the return to his former club. He is having a scan on a potential knee ligament injury after coming off against Leicester City in midweek.

The stats

Plymouth have won 22 of their last 26 home league games, while Norwich have won just once on the road this season.

Argyle have been trailing for just eight minutes in total at home in this league campaign and have scored 11 times in five home games so far this season.

The visitors have scored just twice across their last three games, losing twice.

Norwich have conceded two goals per game on average away from home this term.

Prediction

Plymouth are in the midst of a bad run of form, but a run of defeats on the road was to be expected for Steven Schumacher’s side. They are at their best at Home Park, having won 22 of their last 26 home league games.

Argyle’s only defeat of the season was a harsh one against Southampton. Plymouth played well but conceded a 94th-minute winner to the Saints.

On either side of that, they have beaten Huddersfield and Blackburn at home this term, which should worry Norwich.

The Canaries made a red-hot start but have lost two of their last three games, including a visit to Rotherham. The visitors have already conceded 10 times across their opening seven games, with six of those coming on the road.

Plymouth will be ready to take advantage of any defensive issues Norwich bring to Home Park this weekend.

The hosts are set to return the likes of Ryan Hardie and Bali Mumba to their starting XI and their attack-minded style should cause problems for the Canaries.

While Norwich look set for a strong campaign they have claimed three of their four wins so far at home, so the hosts appeal at above 2/1 for the victory.
