Ipswich can establish their longest winning streak of the season in the league when they travel to Home Park to face Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon.

Kieran McKenna's side are currently on their fourth different four-game winning sequence of the campaign after victories over Millwall, Swansea, Rotherham and Birmingham.

They remain in third place, behind Leeds only on goal difference, as they head to the South West to face an inconsistent Argyle outfit that currently lie in 15th spot — just five points above the bottom three.

Plymouth boss Ian Foster has a fully-fit squad to select from for the first time since taking charge of the club in January.

Midfielder Adam Forshaw has taken a full part in training this week after being ruled out of the last four matches because of a hamstring injury.

Goalkeeper Michael Cooper, who was the first choice throughout most of last season, is now fully fit after a medial knee ligament injury, although it seems unlikely that Conor Hazard will be dropped after keeping a clean sheet in last Saturday's 2-0 win at Middlesbrough.

Alfie Devine, Bali Mumba and Joe Edwards came off the bench at the Riverside Stadium and will hope they did enough to prompt Foster to change a winning line-up.

Ipswich boss McKenna will be forced into at least one change as winger Wes Burns misses out with the injury that forced him off in the first half of last weekend's 3-1 win over Birmingham.

Omari Hutchinson, who scored for the third time in his last five games, appears likely to be recalled in his place.

Harry Clarke could also grab the spot of Axel Tuanzebe at right-back after missing out against the Blues due to a severe dead leg.

Ipswich are looking for their first league double over Plymouth since the 2020-21 campaign, when the two clubs were in League One.

But Argyle have won their last two home league games against Ipswich — although they have not beaten them in three successive matches since 1955.

Foster's side had 22 goal attempts, 11 of them on target, from 31% of the possession at Boro last weekend while the hosts failed to hit the target with any of their 11 goal attempts from a 69% share of the ball.

Prediction

Ipswich appear to have put their winter wobbles firmly behind them now and should be confident of capturing another three points in Devon.

McKenna's men are creating plenty of chances and seem to have cut out the errors that cost them so many games during December and January.

The Northern Irishman made three changes last weekend and appears to have been able to keep things fresh throughout an intense period of fixtures.

They will face a Plymouth side bustling with renewed confidence after last Saturday's victory at Boro snapped a five-game winless run.

But Argyle have not delivered in front of their home fans of late and have failed to score in their last two at Home Park.

They were outplayed by West Brom and Leeds on both occasions and must improve significantly if they are to avoid a similar fate on Saturday.
