- Four of the five meetings between the sides have featured fewer than three goals
- Northern Ireland have lost six of their last eight games without scoring
- Recommended bet: Denmark win & under 2.5 goals

Denmark sealed their place at Euro 2024 with a 2-1 win over Group H rivals Slovenia on Friday, taking with them top spot in the process, and they can finish their campaign with a routine win over Northern Ireland in Belfast.

The Danes have recovered from a sluggish start to take control of the group in the final rounds but it has been a tale of woe for Northern Ireland from start to finish.

Michael O'Neill's men have only two wins over whipping boys San Marino to show for their efforts and they are nine points adrift of fourth-placed Finland.

Qualifying cannot end soon enough for Northern Ireland but there could be a bit more pain to come yet.

Team news

Northern Ireland's injury list is long with Jonny Evans, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Paddy Lane and Brad Lyons all missing out on this round of matches.

Shayne Lavery and Ali McCann also remain absent from the squad for the hosts, who are likely to line-up something similar to that of the side who lost in Finland on Friday.

Denmark have also had selection issues with Robert Skov, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund all missing out this week.

Andreas Skov Olsen is absent with injury too, joining Simon Kjaer, Philip Billing, Alexander Bah and Mikkel Damsgaard on the sidelines.

The stats

Northern Ireland have beaten only San Marino (twice) in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Denmark have won seven of their last nine matches.

Both teams have scored in seven of Denmark's last eight away games.

Northern Ireland have been beaten in six of their last eight without managing to find the net.

Denmark have won their last three games with both sides scoring.

Prediction

Matches between these two nations have been historically tight and this latest encounter at Windsor Park could follow suit with Denmark having qualified for next summer's finals and confidence low in the Northern Ireland camp.

The Danes sealed their spot at Euro 2024 with a 2-1 win over Slovenia and can play with a degree of comfort having claimed top spot.

They are unlikely to force the issue too much in Belfast so a low-scoring victory could again be in the offing.

Denmark's last away fixture resulted in a scrappy 2-1 win over group minnows San Marino, and that preceded the home win over Slovenia on Friday.

They head back on the road to face a Northern Ireland side struggling in all aspects but goals have been a particular problem, with only seven scored in their nine group games.

Five of those came against San Marino and it was 1-0 to Denmark when these two last met in Copenhagen in June.

A similar outcome looks likely this week and an away win with no more than two goals scored looks a decent bet on Monday.
