The Citizens had been unbeaten in 52 home games prior to Saturday's 4-0 league defeat to Tottenham at the Etihad on Saturday.

However, it is over six years since they last lost on home soil in the Champions League, a run of 33 games without defeat.

Feyenoord have won their two away matches in this season's competition, at Girona and Benfica, but prior to those successes had lost 10 Champions League games on the road in a row.

The longer Manchester City's barren run lingers on, the louder those questioning the Premier League champions will become.

It is not quite panic stations just yet with six months of the campaign still to go, but the Citizens are extremely difficult to trust at short odds given their slump.

A Feyenoord side in the midst of their own injury crisis would appear a favourable opponent for City, who still have work to do if they are to claim a top-eight place and fast track to the last 16 of the Champions League.

But the Dutch side can be dangerous foes and they will be buoyed by the lack of defensive structure exhibited by City in recent weeks.

The hosts have shipped 14 goals in their five-game losing streak, including four in their last Champions League outing at Sporting Lisbon, and their four European ties this season have produced 14 strikes in total.

That is three fewer than Feyenoord's four matches among Europe's elite and there is every chance that both defences could be mere bystanders on Tuesday night.
