Lyon’s turnaround from relegation candidates to gaining a place in Europe was completed in their final Ligue 1 game of the season. A 2-1 victory over Strasbourg lifted them into sixth, guaranteeing European football regardless of how they fare this weekend.

Since Pierre Sage was appointed — as interim manager at the end of November, Lyon have accumulated the same number of points as PSG (46), but they have lost five more games and picked up two more victories.

They have gone about that form in spectacular fashion, scoring 40 times, with PSG’s 47-goal tally the highest in that spell.

PSG did pull off a 4-1 victory over Lyon during that run and both of their encounters this season finished with that scoreline. Lyon love to get forward and they will not compromise those principles against the Ligue 1 champions.

However, that is likely to be dangerous for the underdogs, as PSG have scored 20 goals in five French Cup games, with Kylian Mbappe scoring eight of those.

The champions saw over 3.5 goals land in four of their final six games of the season and that should continue in what is set to be an end-to-end cup final.
