Mother Earth is looking to add Coronation Stakes glory to her 1000 Guineas win
Mother Earth is looking to add Coronation Stakes glory to her 1000 Guineas win

Day four of Royal Ascot keeps the fantastic action coming.

Not only is there a great renewal of the Coronation Stakes as a number of the leading three-year-old fillies are taking each other on, the Commonwealth Cup could produce a superstar in the sprint division.

2.30pm - Albany Stakes (6f)

A lot of the fillies in the Albany Stakes come into this race with big reputations.

Many of them have appeared just once so there is not much form to work with.

The one which really stood out on her debut was FLOTUS

She was very impressive in her debut success at Goodwood.

Frankie Dettori has been booked to partner this filly and the vibes are strong about her.

This is not going to be an easy test, with Hello You and Prettiest also open to improvement, however, she could be something very special.

LiveScore Selection: Flotus

3.05pm - King Edward VII Stakes (1m4f)

The form of ALENQUER's victory in the Derby Trial at Sandown back in April was given a huge boost earlier this month when Adayar won the Derby.

The Classic winner finished second behind William Haggas' runner at the Esher track.

Alenquer is now stepping up to 1m4f for the first time in this renewal of the King Edward VII Stakes and he could be even better at this distance.

If the form line from his Sandown win is anything to go by, he will take some beating in this race.

3.40pm - Commonwealth Cup (6f)

The only unbeaten runner in the Commonwealth Cup is the French-based filly SUESA

Francois Rohaut's horse has won all four of her starts at Chantilly, and her last two outings have come in Group Three races where she has looked unstoppable.

This contest has a real international feel to it with Wesley Ward's speedster Campanelle and Measure Of Magic coming across from Ireland.

It is likely that it will be France who will be celebrating at the end of it as Suesa may be difficult to catch.

LiveScore Selection: Suesa

On paper, this race is one of the best of the week at the Royal meeting.

The 1000 Guineas, Irish 1000 Guineas and Fillies' Mile winners all line up and a case can be made for all three horses on what they have achieved so far.

Preference should be given to MOTHER EARTH who came out on top in the British Classic in early May.

She has been chosen over Empress Josephine by Ryan Moore.

Aidan O'Brien's filly followed her success at Newmarket by finishing second in the French version at Longchamp.

She can have more big-race glory in this Group One contest.

LiveScore Selection: Mother Earth

5.35pm - Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (1m4f)

The two stand out runners in the Duke Of Edinburgh stakes are Aaddeey and QUICKTHORN

Both have been raised 13lbs in the weights following their wide margin victories last time out.

It was the latter who was arguably the most impressive of the two, scoring by 8½ lengths at Haydock.

Hughie Morrison's runner will not mind any rain in the ground.

The son of Nathaniel looks capable of much more so he can defy his rise in the ratings.
