The Premier League provided us with more drama this weekend as Chelsea slipped up in the title race with Manchester City becoming the new leaders.

Liverpool and Manchester United both picked up victories and Tottenham made it three league wins in a row under Antonio Conte.

At the other end of the table, Newcastle earned their first three points of the season and Patrick Bamford returned to rescue a draw for Leeds against Brentford.

We pick out five stars who lit up Matchday 15 in England's top flight.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham continued on their quest for Champions League qualification as they dismantled title-chasing Chelsea on Saturday.

The Hammers set up to counter Thomas Tuchel's Blues and a late winner from Arthur Masuaku handed the home side the spoils in the London derby.

Jarrod Bowen was a standout performer for the East London side — the Englishman scored West Ham's second goal of the game and also registered an assist.

Bowen had been a threat down Chelsea's left flank for the majority of the game and made his presence known with a well-taken goal from just inside the penalty box to make it 2-2.

The former Hull man also won a penalty for his side when they were 1-0 down, which Manuel Lanzini dispatched.

Fred

United midfielder Fred stole the headlines in Ralf Rangnick's first game in charge of the Red Devils as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday.

The Brazilian has come under much scrutiny from the Old Trafford faithful for his underwhelming performances lately but stepped up against the Eagles.

Fred scored the only goal of the game, curling a stunning effort into the top corner after Mason Greenwood laid the ball to him outside the box.

Rangnick was delighted with the performance and even joked with Fred after the game, saying: "I thought he could only shoot with his left. I'm happy for him."

The 28-year-old may be starting to write a new chapter in his United career that could see him become a favourite under the interim manager.

Oliver Skipp

Spurs continued their fine run of form as they saw off Norwich in a convincing 3-0 win on Sunday.

Lucas Moura scored a stunner before goals from Davinson Sanchez and Heung-Min Son secured the points for the hosts.

But it was youngster Oliver Skipp who caught the attention of many as the former Norwich loanee put in a second successive man-of-the-match performance.

The England Under-21s star has missed just one game in the Premier League this season and has been a midfield maestro for the Lilywhites.

His ability to win possession in any area of the pitch and transition defence into attack has helped Conte to an unbeaten start in England's top flight.

Ezri Konsa

Ezri Konsa played a pivotal role in helping Aston Villa beat Leicester at the weekend as Steven Gerrard continued his impressive start to life as a Premier League boss.

Konsa, 24, scored a brace as the Villans fought back from a goal down to emerge victorious from this Midlands derby.

His first was initially credited to his team-mate Emiliano Buendia but the Englishman was shown to have got the faintest of touches as the ball headed towards the net.

Konsa's second goal was undoubtedly his own — the Englishman rose highest to head home at the back post from a corner and win his side the game.

The defender is continuing to thrive in Gerrard's system but Villa still have lots of work to do if they are to push for the European spots this season.

Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva has scored five league goals in his last six Manchester City appearances, with the Portugal international adding two more in the win over Watford at the weekend.

The 27-year-old has been instrumental in firing Pep Guardiola's side to the top of the Premier League and the midfielder demonstrated his brilliance once again on Saturday.

Often coming inside from the right, Silva had the beating of Watford left-back Danny Rose for the entire 90 minutes.

His first goal was expertly taken — Silva picked up a loose ball inside the area and managed to get a shot away with some quick feet to put his side 2-0 up.

And his second was the icing on the cake as he cut in on to his left foot before bending an effort into the top corner.

Other standout performers

Lucas Moura (Tottenham), Armando Broja (Southampton), Harvey Barnes (Leicester), Callum Wilson (Newcastle), Diogo Dalot (Manchester United)
