Fulham vs Ipswich Town predictions: Tractor Boys can make their mark at Craven Cottage
- Fulham are six points off fourth place heading into this weekend's fixtures
- Ipswich are just a point from safety
- Recommended bet: Double chance, draw or Ipswich
Ipswich will be hoping to boost their survival hopes when they make the trip to Craven Cottage to face European-hopefuls Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Tractor Boys boosted their chances of staying up with a 2-0 victory at home to Chelsea last time out, leaving them just one point from safety heading into this latest round of fixtures.
Fulham were held to a fourth draw in their last five matches, sharing the spoils with Bournemouth in a 2-2 at Craven Cottage, but the Cottagers are still in the mix for a European finish.
Team news
Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson are not expected back for Fulham until February due to knee and thigh injuries respectively, while Sander Berge has missed the last two matches with an ankle issue and will be assessed.
Harrison Reed has been recovering from knee surgery back in November and this game is likely to come too soon for his return. Emile Smith Rowe made his return to action off the bench last time out and he is pushing for a start.
Ipswich could welcome back Massimo Luongo, who has been struggling with illness, but George Hirst is still a week or so away from returning from his knee injury.
Janoi Donacien, Axel Tuanzebe and Chiedozie Ogbene are all sidelined.
The stats
Fulham are on a seven-match unbeaten run, drawing five of those games and winning two.
The Cottagers have drawn their last three home assignments, sharing the spoils with Arsenal (1-1), Southampton (0-0) and Bournemouth (2-2).
Ipswich recorded their first Premier League win at home since 2002 last time out against Chelsea, recording a 2-0 success at Portman Road.
The Tractor Boys have won three times in the top flight this season, with two of those coming on the road against Tottenham and Wolves.
Prediction
Fulham have proven hard to beat of late with five of their last seven matches ending in draws and the level of opposition they have faced cannot be ignored, as they have held Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Bournemouth.
The stalemate against Southampton was the most disappointing result during that period and while the Cottagers are unbeaten in their last seven fixtures, the inability to turn one point into three is concerning.
Marco Silva's side are struggling for that extra bit of spark in the final third and it is hard to side with them to get the win, especially as they face an Ipswich side boosted by that win over Chelsea last time out.
Kieran McKenna's troops were much better with Liam Delap back in the side for that contest — the forward having missed the previous match due to suspension — and he will be crucial to the club's chances of staying up.
The Tractor Boys have shown they can battle on the road this season, collecting two of their three wins and eight of their total 15 points away from home, so there looks to be value in backing them in the double chance market.
