Weekend acca predictions: Five teams to back across Europe
Recommended bets:
- Real Betis to beat Celta Vigo
- Augsburg to beat Hoffenheim
- Brest to beat Montpellier
- Reims to beat Le Havre
- Lazio to beat Monza
The final international break of 2024 is nearly upon us, but there is still one more weekend full of thrilling domestic action to enjoy across Europe before that rolls around.
Sunday, 1pm
After battling relegation for the majority of last season, Celta Vigo have made a decent start to this campaign, taking 16 points from the first 36 available.
However, just three of their 16 points have been earned on their travels and given that sole win came at bottom-three side Las Palmas, it is fair to expect them to struggle in Seville on Sunday.
Real Betis have lost just one of their nine home matches this season, winning four of their last five league games at Estadio Benito Villamarin, and they are likely to have too much for a travel-sick Celta.
Sunday, 2.30pm
Hoffenheim entered the weekend hovering above the Bundesliga drop zone by just a solitary point and place, with that precarious position unlikely to be improved upon on Sunday.
They are winless in six away games, with their sole victory on the road this term only being achieved via a penalty shootout against fourth-tier Wurzburgur in the DFB Pokal.
Augsburg, meanwhile, have won three straight home games in a run which includes a 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
The hosts will also be fresher due to having no European commitments, unlike Hoffenheim, and they can extend their winning run on their own patch.
Sunday, 4pm
Rooted to the bottom of Ligue 1 and with just four points to their name, Montpellier have endured a miserable start to the campaign and look set for a relegation dogfight.
They have conceded 29 goals while losing eight of their last nine games and that shocking run looks likely to continue against Brest.
The visitors have won their last three away games and also earned an impressive Champions League draw with Bayer Leverkusen last month, suggesting they should have no issues against Ligue 1’s basement boys.
Sunday, 4pm
Reims have lost three games in a row but they have a great opportunity to bounce back to winning ways against Le Havre.
The hosts have lost six of their last seven games, only beating basement boys Montpellier in a run which has seen them fail to score on five occasions.
Reims did the double over Le Havre last term and can land another victory on Sunday.
Sunday, 5pm
Lazio extended their winning streak to five games with a 2-1 Europa League victory over Porto on Thursday and they can make it six on the spin on Sunday.
The side from Rome have actually won nine of their last 10 games, only losing away at Juventus in that run, and they should prove far too strong for Monza, who have lost their last two matches to nil.
