Derby County are 12th in the table with 14 points from their first 11 games, following their 1-1 draw at fellow Championship newcomers Oxford United on Tuesday. 

Hull are a point behind the Rams in 15th position, after they held high-flying Burnley to a 1-1 stalemate in midweek.

Derby will be without the injured Ryan Nyambe, Jake Rooney, David Ozoh and Tawanda Chirewa. 

Liam Millar is a doubt for Hull, after he was substituted after just five minutes of the Tigers’ draw with Burnley, after picking up a knee injury. 

The Canadian international could join the injured Carl Rushworth, Thimothee Lo-Tutala, Harvey Cartwright, Andy Smith, Marvin Mehlem, Steven Alzate and Ryan Longman on the sidelines.

Derby have kept clean sheets in all of their four home victories this season, with only Norwich having scored against them at Pride Park. 

Hull are without a win in three games, having lost to Norwich and Sunderland, before their draw with Burnley this week. 

Though Derby’s progress has been held back by their failure to win one of their six away games, they have drawn the last two, against Millwall and Oxford. 

Hull have won two of their five away games, winning twice and drawing once, with their victories coming against teams below them in the table, in the form of Stoke and QPR.

Derby are unbeaten in three games and now go back to their happy hunting ground of Pride Park, where they have won 12 of their 14 points this season. 

The Rams really are a different team at home, with only three of the 14 goals that they have conceded having come at their own stadium, all in that sole 3-2 defeat to Norwich. 

Hull’s decision to part ways with Liam Rosenior at the end of last season, having just missed out on a play-off spot in seventh place, was questioned at the time and could prove to be a mistake. 

They have yet to show any consistency under new manager Tim Walter, with their three wins this season all coming in a burst across September and early October.

Since then Hull have gone three games without a win, albeit against tough opposition, but with Derby fitting that description at home, they could inflict another defeat upon the Tigers.
