Jos Buttler was pleased with his return to form as England defeated West Indies in the second one-day international of the three-match series.

England won by six wickets in Antigua after bowling out for the hosts for just 202 in 39.4 overs, with Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone each picking up three wickets.

Buttler, 33, helped secure victory by remaining not out on 58 from just 45 balls, forging an unbroken partnership of 90 with Harry Brook after opener Will Jacks hit 73 off 72.

It was the England skipper's first ODI half-century since September following a dismal Cricket World Cup defence in India.

Buttler said: "I've been searching for form.

"I have had moments where it has been frustrating.

"I was getting fed up with it so it was time to put in a performance and get back to the player that I know I am."

Buttler brought up the milestone of 5,000 ODI runs during his unbeaten knock in Antigua, becoming just the fifth Englishman to achieve the feat alongside Joe Root, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan and Paul Collingwood.

Away from his own performance, the wicket-keeper batsman made sure to praise Curran.

The all-rounder bounced back from a poor display in the first ODI, when he recorded career-worst figures of 0-98 as England slipped to defeat.

Buttler added: "He's a brilliant character.

"He had a tough day the other day but he's always up for the challenge and never shies away from it. He led from the front for us today which is just what we needed."

England and West Indies lock horns again in Barbados on Saturday to decide the ODI series.
