Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea are ending the season strongly

- Brighton have kept one clean sheet in 13 Premier League meetings with Chelsea
- Both teams have scored in 13 of Chelsea's last 15 away matches in the top flight
- Recommended bet: Chelsea to win & both teams to score

Chelsea's strong finish to the Premier League season continued with Saturday's 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest and that was also the scoreline when they beat Brighton at Stamford Bridge in December.

The Blues have lost only one of their last 13 league games — a 5-0 rout at title contenders Arsenal — and they have surged into European contention following a patchy start to the Mauricio Pochettino era.

Brighton look set for a mid-table finish after a frustrating campaign, although the Seagulls have taken four points from their last two games against European hopefuls Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Team news

Brighton will assess the fitness of Joao Pedro, Joel Veltman and Jan Paul van Hecke. Solly March, Evan Ferguson, Jack Hinshelwood, Pervis Estupinan, James Milner and Kaoru Mitoma remain sidelined.

Chelsea's injury crisis has eased and captain Reece James is pushing for a start after returning to action as a substitute in the weekend win at Nottingham Forest.

The Blues are still missing Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Ben Chilwell, Enzo Fernandez, Robert Sanchez and Carney Chukwuemeka.

The stats

Brighton have kept one clean sheet in 13 Premier League meetings with Chelsea.

The Seagulls have won only one of their last eight Premier League matches and eight of their previous 27 league games have ended 1-1.

Across Chelsea's last 15 league matches, 13 have featured over 3.5 goals.

The Blues have scored at least twice in 12 of their last 14 league games.

Both teams have scored in 13 of Chelsea's last 15 away matches in the top flight.

Prediction

Injuries have hampered Chelsea boss Pochettino and his Brighton counterpart Roberto De Zerbi this season but the Blues look in better shape as the campaign draws to a close.

Their 3-2 win at Forest means they have scored at least twice in 12 of their last 14 Premier League matches and the exceptions came in the 5-0 loss at title-chasing Arsenal and a 1-1 draw at champions Manchester City.

Chelsea have been reliant on Cole Palmer for attacking inspiration for much of the season but Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher have also chipped in with goals recently.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling were on the scoresheet at the City Ground and Chelsea have the firepower to trouble a Brighton side still missing a host of senior players due to injury.

The Seagulls beat Villa 1-0 in their last home game, restricting the visitors to just two shots, but they had conceded 11 goals in their four matches prior to that and look set for another high-scoring defeat against Chelsea.
