Eddie Hearn says he is doing "everything he can" to ensure Katie Taylor's next fight is hosted at Croke Park.

Taylor avenged her only professional loss by beating Chantelle Cameron at Dublin's 3Arena last Saturday, with the 37-year-old winning by majority decision to claim the undisputed super-lightweight crown.

Hearn is desperate to host her next fight at Croke Park — a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin which has a capacity of 82,300 — and believes support from the Irish government can make the dream become reality.

The Matchroom chief said: "It's absolutely my ambition to take Katie's next fight to Croke Park.

"There are other stadiums but obviously Croke Park is the one she's always talked about and it's the one that probably creates the most history."

Hearn's previous hopes of hosting a fight in the stadium have been dashed by security costs and he has called upon the Irish authorities to step in and show their support for boxing.

The 44-year-old added: "I feel driven to deliver it for what I feel is Ireland's greatest ever athlete.

"That involves Katie. That involves Irish fans. That involves the government. And that involves us putting together a strategic plan for the government and the tourism agencies to actually show them the benefit of such an event.

"It [financial support] is available for a lot of sports but historically not boxing but we just want a parity of costs with other major stadiums.

"We know we can get that at the Aviva [Stadium]. We know we can get that at Wembley Stadium or Dallas Cowboys or wherever we promote shows around the world.

"It's just that the cost associated with Croke Park doesn't enable us to give the fighters what they deserve and that's the most important thing.

"And also to produce a card from top to bottom that will help us create history for Irish boxing."
