- Recommended bet:
Uruguay to win

Uruguay have looked one of the most convincing sides in this year’s Copa America and they will be hoping to continue their rich vein of form when they face a rather subdued Brazil outfit.

The nine-time Copa America winners only won one of their three group games and could struggle without the suspended Vinicius Junior in Las Vegas.

Team news

Attacker Maximiliano Araujo suffered a head injury against the United States but should recover to return to the left of Uruguay’s attack, with Darwin Nunez set to lead the line ahead of him, Nicolas de la Cruz, and Facundo Pellistri.

Publicidad

Brazil will be without star man Vinicius Junior after the Real Madrid man picked up his second yellow card of the tournament, with Savinho expected to take his place alongside Lucas Paqueta, Raphinha, and Endrick.

The stats

Dorival Junior appears under pressure having won just one game so far and will be without Vinicius Junior against Uruguay

Uruguay have won all three matches in this year’s Copa America.

Brazil lost 2-0 the last time these teams faced off in October 2023.

Publicidad

Brazil have only won one of their last four games.

La Celeste have scored nine goals and conceded just one this tournament.

Uruguay have won seven of their last 10 matches.

Prediction

Uruguay won all three of their Copa America group games and they should feel quietly confident as they head to Las Vegas to face a Brazil side that have been underwhelming so far.

The Selecao won only one of their three group games and were fortunate to draw against Colombia last time out, with the underdogs outshooting Brazil 13-7 and generating 1.4 expected goals to Brazil’s 0.3.

To make matters worse for Dorival Junior, he will be without the nation’s current poster boy, Vinicius Junior, against Uruguay after the Real Madrid star picked up his second booking of the tournament against Colombia.

The last time these sides met, back in October 2023, Uruguay won 2-0, and that is one of seven wins from La Celeste’s last 10 matches, which also includes fantastic wins over Argentina and Mexico.

They have scored 22 goals and conceded just four in this period, and the likes of Darwin Nunez and Federico Valverde have been excellent so far in this tournament. If they can continue in that vein of form, Uruguay look a good price to beat a Vinicius-less Brazil in Las Vegas.
