Liverpool are ready to move for Serge Gnabry after the Bayern Munich star reportedly rejected a new contract.

According to numerous sources, the Reds will have to battle it out with Arsenal and Chelsea to land the German international.

Gnabry, 26, is currently on international duty and has yet to ask to leave Bayern.

But he hinted all was not well when asked about team-mate Robert Lewandowski's desire to quit the Bundesliga champions.

Gnabry, who came through the ranks at Arsenal, said: "In my view, it's a bit of a shame how things go back and forth — as a team-mate, as part of the club.

"That's why I hope that somehow a peaceful agreement will take place.

"It's not that each of us only thinks about money. There are other things that play a big role in making you feel good.

"Appreciation should come from both sides — from club to player and from player to club."

Gnabry netted 14 goals and laid on six in 34 league outings as Bayern won the title last season.

Bees bid to tie down Eriksen

Christian Eriksen impressed during a short-term deal with Brentford last term

Brentford are sweating on a reply from Christian Eriksen after offering him a long-term contract, according to Sky Sports

The Bees signed the former Inter Milan midfielder in January as he worked his way back to full fitness after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020.

Eriksen, 30, helped Thomas Frank's side steer clear of the relegation battle with one goal and four assists in 11 Premier League appearances.

But his deal expired at the end of the season and a host of clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham, are believed to be ready to swoop.

The Dane would love to play Champions League football again and an emotional reunion with ex-Inter boss Antonio Conte at Spurs could be too good to resist.

Former Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been released by Australian club Perth Glory after playing less than 140 minutes in an injury-blighted campaign.

Sturridge, 32, who won 26 England caps, started just one of the six games he appeared in and failed to find the net as Glory finished bottom of the 12-team A-League.

Everton are confident of winning the race for Burnley defender James Tarkowski, according to the Sun.

The centre-back, 29, who has also attracted interest from Newcastle and Fulham, is available on a free.

L'Equipe claim Lyon are keen to re-sign France forward Alexandre Lacazette — five years after selling him to Arsenal.
