Liverpool remain among the candidates to sign Kylian Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker's deal expires at the end of the season, which means he is now free to pen a pre-contract agreement with clubs abroad.

Real Madrid have long been considered the frontrunners to sign the 25-year-old but according to Le Parisien, Liverpool are an option and Jurgen Klopp's side are even labelled the "most credible and dangerous candidate" in the report.

Mbappe would add serious firepower to the Reds' already talented attack with the France captain enjoying yet another superb start to a campaign.

He has scored 18 goals and registered two assists in 16 Ligue 1 appearances, following on from 29 goals and five assists in 34 matches last term.

Mbappe's arrival at Anfield would also soften the blow of Mohamed Salah's potential exit.

The Egyptian winger continues to be linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League despite his own magnificent start to the season, with last night's brace against Newcastle taking him to 14 goals in 20 Premier League outings.
