Poland can edge out Mexico in Group C with a familiar name on the scoresheet, and Denmark can get their campaign under way with a victory as well over Tunisia.

- Andreas Cornelius can help Denmark see off Tunisia
- Star man Robert Lewandowski can inspire Poland again

Cornelius and Denmark can start with a win

Bet 1: Denmark to win

Denmark come into the competition with three wins and two defeats from their last five games, with eye-catching victories over France and Austria mixed in with defeats home and away in the Nations League against Croatia.

They are considered by many as potential dark horses overall in Qatar after losing on penalties in the last 16 four years ago before an extra-time exit at the hands of England in the final four of Euro 2020.

Kasper Hjulmand's side should be able to comfortably beat a Tunisian outfit who had won three games on the trot before going down 5-1 to Brazil, most recently at the end of September.

Bet 2: Andreas Cornelius to score anytime in the match

If the Danes are to start with a bang, then key men Christian Eriksen and Cornelius are likely to play important roles. Former Cardiff City frontman Cornelius is expected to feature, as the Danes do have some injury concerns for their opener.

He has not always been a regular for his country but has nine international goals from 41 caps, and if he gets a chance against a Tunisian defence that shipped five against Brazil last time, he will expect to take it.

Bet 3: Wahbi Khazri to receive a card in the match

Khazri is one of the more recognisable names in the Tunisia squad and, at 31, he is now one of the elder statesmen for his country, with 71 caps to his name.

He has been booked 18 times on the international stage and sent off once, and he could find himself in trouble with the referee again on Tuesday as his sometimes overly-aggressive approach oversteps the mark.

The former Sunderland man has been booked twice for club side Montpellier this term, and he is well used to picking up bookings throughout his career with, in total, 107 yellows and four reds on his record from 445 club games.

Copenhagen forward Andreas Cornelius will hope to add to his nine international goals at the World Cup

Barca ace Lewandowski to lead Poland to win

Bet 1: Poland to win the match

Poland are ranked 13 places beneath Mexico in FIFA's world rankings at 26, but the European side can edge what is set to be a tight Group C clash.

The Poles have won their last two matches, beating both Wales and Chile 1-0 in the Nations League and a friendly, and will look for more of the same against a Mexico outfit who have been inconsistent this year, with two wins and three defeats across their last five games.

Bet 2: Over two goals in the match combined for both teams

The likelihood of over two goals in this clash looks high, with that being the outcome in Mexico's last three matches.

Mexico and Poland will be well aware they are probably playing for second place in the group behind favourites Argentina, and this match could be crucial to determine who will qualify. Therefore, both are expected to opt for an attacking strategy that should see goals at both ends.

Bet 3: Robert Lewandowski to score anytime in the match

Lewandowski is still the main man for Poland, and the Barca ace comes into the tournament in great form.

Publicidad

The 34-year-old has hit 18 goals in 19 matches in all competitions since moving from Bayern Munich in the summer, and he continues to demonstrate he is one of the best centre-forwards in the game.

If Poland do secure an opening victory, expect their talisman to be front and centre.
