- Crvena zvezda will finish bottom
- Recommended bet: Man City to win and both teams to score

Already-qualified Manchester City will be looking to end their Group G Champions League campaign with a perfect six-from-six winning record when they go to Crvena zvezda on Wednesday.

City sealed top spot in the group on the previous matchday when they came from 2-0 down to beat RB Leipzig 3-2 at home.

Now they head to Serbia looking to extend their winning run in Europe against Crvena zvezda, who are destined to finish bottom of the group after picking up just a single point from their first five games.

Team news

Crvena zvezda have no reported fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash.

Publicidad

Kosta Nedeljkovic made his full debut in the Champions League on matchday five against Young Boys but the right-back's place in the home side's line-up is under threat from Stefan Mitrovic.

Erling Haaland's foot injury keeps him out for City, while Jeremy Doku is also absent with a muscle problem.

Kevin De Bruyne is still recovering from his hamstring injury while Stefan Ortega, Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Sergio Gomez, Kalvin Phillips and Oscar Bobb are among those hoping for starts if Guardiola opts to make wholesale changes.

Kalvin Phillips could be handed a rare start on Wednesday

The stats

City have scored three goals in each of their last six Champions League group stage games.

Publicidad

However, Pep Guardiola's side have only kept one clean sheet in the competition this season.

Crvena zvezda have scored in both of their home European games in Group G when drawing 2-2 with Young Boys and losing 2-1 to RB Leipzig.

Crvena zvezda have won nine of their 12 home games in all competitions this season.

Prediction

Reigning European champions City have sailed through qualifying with five wins from five, although they were made to work hard for their most recent victory when they came from 2-0 down at half-time to eventually beat Leipzig 3-2.

That result sealed top spot in Group G and they should now finish off with another win away at Crvena zvezda.

The Serbian champions have only managed a draw against Young Boys at home, losing their other four matches, to leave them bottom of the section and their European campaign therefore comes to an end after this clash.

City ended a surprising run of four games in the Premier League without a win when they came from behind to beat Luton on Sunday and Guardiola will demand another victory in midweek, despite qualification already being sealed.

The City boss is likely to make changes to give some of his first-team regulars a rest but they should still have too much for opponents they beat 3-1 at home in the reverse fixture.

The treble winners have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last six games, though, and they have only posted one victory to zero in the Champions League so far this term.

Publicidad

Therefore the hosts, who have won six of their last eight games in all competitions, scoring 17 goals in that run, will be confident of at least getting on the scoresheet in the final group game.
