Draw

Hull host West Brom on Sunday in a match between two teams who have forgotten what a league win feels like.

The Tigers are on a six-game winless run, with three draws and three losses in that time, while the Baggies' unsuccessful spell has lasted even longer, with their current streak of six successive draws following their only two league defeats of the season.

Team news

Hull winger Mohamed Belloumi will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury sustained in Tuesday's defeat at Oxford. Liam Millar was already out for the year with a similar issue and goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is still out with an ankle injury.

Publicidad

West Brom are still dealing with a number of defensive injuries and Kyle Bartley (knee), Paddy McNair (hamstring) and Semi Ajayi (hamstring) are all out, while left-back Gianluca Frabotta (adductor) is the latest victim and will be out until at least the next international break. Striker Daryl Dike has had a setback and will remain sidelined until after Christmas.

The stats

There have been under 2.5 goals in each of Hull's last five games.

The Tigers have scored only seven goals in seven home league matches this season.

Hull have conceded more than two goals in only one match this season.

Publicidad

Four of West Brom's last six fixtures have finished 0-0.

West Brom have played seven successive games with under 2.5 goals.

The Baggies have lost just one of their seven away games in the Championship.

Albion have failed to score in five of their last seven matches.

Prediction

Hull are much lower down the Championship standings than West Brom but there has not been much to choose between the form of the teams over the last six weeks and both have become accustomed to being involved in tight, low-scoring games.

Neither side has scored more than one goal in any of Hull's last five matches and the same can be said of West Brom's last seven fixtures.

Hull have been solid enough at home, losing only one of their last four matches in front of their own fans, and they have lost only five of their 14 league games, but four draws in seven home matches have detracted from their chances of climbing the table.

West Brom made a lightning-fast start to the campaign, winning five of their first six Championship matches, but they have not been successful in any competition since a 1-0 home win over Plymouth in September.

Hull were able to drag top-six teams Burnley and Sunderland into tight games on their visits to the MKM Stadium, losing 1-0 to the Black Cats but holding the Clarets to a 1-1 draw, while the Albion have come up short in their last four away games, with draws at Oxford, Blackburn and Luton following a 3-2 loss at Sheffield Wednesday.

All those teams are below the Baggies in the standings, like Hull, and the draw could offer the best value as both teams try to end their winless runs.
