Bukayo Saka netted his first senior a hat-trick to guide England to a 7-0 win over North Macedonia in Monday's Euro 2024 qualifier.

Harry Kane started the scoring by firing home from close range, after which Saka smashed in a second before Marcus Rashford slid in the third of the first half.

Two minutes after the break, Saka controlled a long ball by Trent Alexander-Arnold and sent a venomous left-footed volley high past goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.

He completed the hat-trick running through one-on-one, where he was found by Kane and guided home.

Kalvin Phillips' simple tap-in and Kane's powerful penalty rounded off the stunning England win.

Here are five talking points from Old Trafford.

Brilliant Bukayo

Saka had a phenomenal night netting the first hat-trick of his senior career.

Publicidad

The Arsenal starlet rifled his first into the roof of the net from a tight angle that had no chance of being saved.

His second was even better as he volleyed home Alexander-Arnold's pin-point long ball from distance.

It was a performance that marked the end of a phenomenal season for Saka.

Kane continues England hot streak

Harry Kane scored for the sixth England game in a row

Kane continued his red-hot goalscoring form for the Three Lions.

Publicidad

Against North Macedonia, he scored for the sixth England game in a row — a run that began against Senegal at the Qatar World Cup.

It was an important goal as frustrations for the Three Lions had started to mount in the first half due to a compact defence from the visitors.

Kane fittingly fired in the final goal of the match from the penalty spot in what was a ruthless showing from the England captain.

Rashford returns

Rashford returned to the starting line-up in place of James Maddison and had a big impact.

The Manchester United forward threatened straight from kick-off with direct dribbling that caused the North Macedonia defence all sorts of problems.

In the 44th minute, he finally broke through, finishing off a wonderful England move by sweeping Jordan Henderson's pass into an open net.

In Raheem Sterling's absence, it was a strong statement from the 25-year-old as he aims to establish a starting spot in a loaded attack.

Marcus Rashford was a constant threat for England throughout the match

Ruthless England attack

England showed their ruthlessness in what was a dominant attacking display.

The starting frontline all had their names on the score sheet before the break, showing their intent from the get-go.

Publicidad

That extended into the second half as the Three Lions flexed their muscles with fluid football and North Macedonia could do little to stop them.

The integration of Alexander-Arnold in midfield continued to bear fruit as he added another element going forwards.

England can only beat what is in front of them and did so in thrilling fashion at the Theatre of Dreams.

England end on a high

The victory sees Gareth Southgate's side build on their dominant European qualifiers form.

The Three Lions remain top of Group C with 12 points after four wins in four, having scored 15 goals and conceded just one — putting them well one course for Germany.

Their commanding position will be pleasing for Southgate, who helped England navigate another successful international break.
