Fabinho knows his Liverpool team-mates will fight to the bitter end despite dropping crucial points in the Premier League title race on Saturday.

Luis Diaz’s deflected 74th-minute strike cancelled out Heung-Min Son’s opener to earn the Reds a draw against Tottenham at Anfield.

But Manchester City’s 5-0 victory against Newcastle on Sunday leaves Jurgen Klopp’s men three points behind with an inferior goal difference and only three games remaining.

Liverpool are back in action on Tuesday — facing Reds legend Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa — and Fabinho believes it is still all to play for.

The Brazilian midfielder, 28, said: "We are still alive. We are still fighting.

"Of course, we want to win all the games. We know we can’t stop. We try until the end.

"It’s not easy playing every three days at a good level. We know we are fighting against one of the best teams in the world.

"We know if we lose points in the fight against Man City, maybe it can cost the title.

"But we are human beings. They are human beings as well.

"We will hope they will lose points and as I said before, we will keep fighting and try to win the next game against Aston Villa."

Central defender Virgil van Dijk was also bullish following the performance against Spurs.

After Tuesday’s clash at Villa Park, Liverpool take on Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley before their league campaign concludes with fixtures against Southampton and Wolves.

And with a Champions League final against Real Madrid to come at the end of the month, Van Dijk remains optimistic about his team's prospects.

The Dutchman, 30, said: "It is frustrating to drop points, but we have to recover and play the remaining games.

"We have quite exciting games still coming up and we have to turn disappointment now into focus on Villa.

"We’re disappointed that we dropped points but so far we are having quite a good season.

"We are all human beings and there is a reason that we feel this way when we drop points, especially with the wins that we had lately in a row.

"But it is what it is and now we have to recover and focus on Villa."
