Mark Robins has been a hero at Coventry, but his side’s poor form is stretching the patience of the Sky Blues’ fans, with the 1-1 draw at QPR in midweek being their third game without a win.

Rob Edwards is in a similar situation at Luton, though there are more signs of a recovery at Kenilworth Road, with the Hatters having beaten Watford 3-0 last weekend, before narrowly losing 2-1 to Sunderland.

Team news

Jake Bidwell, Jamie Allen and Raphael Rodrigues will be missing for Coventry through injury.

Publicidad

Luton will be without the injured Reuell Walters, Tom Lockyer, Mads Andersen and Amari'i Bell.

Hatters' defender Teden Mengi remains a doubt having been sidelined with a pulled calf muscle, picked up while on duty for England U21.

The stats

Rob Edwards's Luton have made a slow start to life back in the Championship, winning just three of 11 games

Going back into last season, Coventry have only won two of their last 17 games in the Championship.

Publicidad

Luton have only won one of their five away matches in the Championship, losing three times and drawing once.

Coventry have both scored and conceded in three of their last four home games across all competitions.

Luton have scored in eight of their last nine matches, while also conceding in six of those appearances.

Prediction

Coventry’s 1-1 draw away at QPR might have been viewed as a decent result under different circumstances, but their need for a win is acute in a season in which they have only tasted victory twice, in 11 league games.

While those two wins have both come at home, you would be hard-pressed to describe the Coventry Building Society Arena as a fortress, with Norwich, Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday all having won there.

Luton’s return to the second tier following their relegation from the Premier League, started terribly, with a draw and three losses from their first four games.

Since then, their form has been average, if erratic, winning three, drawing once and losing three, of their last seven matches, though their away record remains a huge concern for a club aiming for promotion.

Coventry are favoured due to their home advantage, but with it being impossible to have faith in either side, the safe option is to go for goals in a game between two teams who both have defensive issues.
