Tottenham have created several world-class stars in the Premier League era but there have been plenty of forgotten faces to come and go from North London.

Harry Kane and Gareth Bale are two of the biggest names to represent Spurs in the last 30 years but Daniel Levy has also tried and failed with dozens of below-par purchases.

We take a look at 10 players you may not recall ever representing the club.

Bobby Zamora (2003-04)

After scoring 51 goals in 108 appearances for Brighton, Bobby Zamora was picked up by Tottenham but he failed to make his mark at White Hart Lane.

The striker played only 18 times in all competitions under David Pleat, scoring against West Ham before going on to join them the following season.

Wayne Routledge (2005-08)

There was a lot of hype around Wayne Routledge when he made the move to North London, but injuries hampered his time at Spurs and most of his time on the pitch was while he was on loan at Portsmouth.

With just five outings, the winger — who would go on to have a respectable career at Swansea — was used as a bargaining chip for the transfer of Steed Malbranque from Fulham in 2006.

Kevin-Prince Boateng (2007-09)

Kevin-Prince Boateng played for 18 clubs during his career and two of his 19 years as a professional were spent at Spurs.

The outgoing midfielder would not hit his peak in England and only when he joined AC Milan in 2010 did he flourish in the spotlight.

Adel Taarabt (2007-10)

With a total of 15 appearances in all competitions, it is safe to say Adel Taarabt's time at Tottenham is not well-documented.

The Moroccan lasted three years in North London but spent the 2009-10 campaign on loan at QPR before joining them permanently until 2015.

Giovani dos Santos (2008-12)

Giovani dos Santos made 33 appearances for Tottenham

Tottenham sent Giovani dos Santos on loan three times during a four-year stay and failed to get any value out of the £5.2million signing from Barcelona.

Mexico's 106-cap international came through the ranks in Spain but did not live up to expectations at Spurs and eventually moved to the United States where he became a star of Major League Soccer.

Carlo Cudicini (2009-12)

Eyebrows were raised when Chelsea allowed goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini to make a free switch to their London rivals after a decade at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian veteran lasted two-and-a-half years at Tottenham and was part of the squad that secured Champions League qualification for the first time in 2010.

Steven Pienaar (2011-12)

Steven Pienaar is another forgotten name who was hampered by injury at Spurs.

The South African was excellent at both Borussia Dortmund and Everton but struggled to make an impact under Harry Redknapp and was sent back to the Toffees after just one year.

Louis Saha (2012)

Premier League veteran Louis Saha was drafted in at the start of 2012 to add some more firepower to Spurs' frontline as they pushed for a Champions League spot.

After scoring three goals in as many games by the end of February, the Frenchman's addition was looking like a shrewd piece of business — but he was released in the summer after failing to score another league goal.

Federico Fazio (2014-17)

Federico Fazio struggled to adapt to the Premier League

Federico Fazio remains a reliable defender for Salernitana and is held in high regard by both Roma and Sevilla fans.

But the 6ft 5in centre-back struggled to compete for a starting berth at Spurs and lasted just 32 matches.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou (2016-19)

Alongside Clinton Njie, Roberto Soldado and Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou joins the list of failed attackers signed to fill the void left by Bale.

Fresh from a prolific season with Marseille, Levy forked out £11m on a 21-year-old who proved to be another disappointment despite the best efforts of Mauricio Pochettino and his staff.
