Alexis Sanchez has completed his return to Inter Milan, signing a one-year deal with the Serie A giants.

Sanchez left Inter last summer after mutually terminating his contract to join Marseille.

But having failed to agree a new deal with the Ligue 1 outfit in recent weeks, the diminutive forward has now decided to go back to the San Siro, where he scored 20 goals in 109 appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2019 and 2022.

Chile international Sanchez lifted the Scudetto with Inter in 2021, netting seven goals and providing seven assists during that title-winning campaign.

He was also a substitute in the Coppa Italia triumph the following season.

Having struck 18 times in all competitions for Marseille last term, he took to social media to express his thanks to the club's supporters.

He said: "I had excellent moments here and I'll keep great memories.

"A big thank you to the people of Marseille, who always supported me, in the good and the bad moments.

"I also wanted to clear some things up. I always wanted to stay at Marseille. That didn't just depend on me.

"You need two to make an agreement. The technical management had other choices, which I respect."

Marseille have already boosted their attacking options with the signings of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang from Chelsea and Iliman Ndiaye from Sheffield United earlier this summer.

Argentine forward Joaquin Correa also joined Marcelino's men on loan from Inter on Friday.

The French outfit are back in action this evening at home to Brest, while Sanchez could make his first appearance of the season for Inter at Cagliari on Monday night.
